Sac County is fortunate to have many healthcare providers. Loring Hospital in Sac City, is a nationally-recognized critical access hospital with an adjacent clinic that offers family medicine as well as many visiting specialists. McCrary Rost Clinic in Lake View also offers family medicine. Four extended care nursing facilities, independent living centers, and assisted living apartments allow residents to receive care without moving far from home. Dentists, optometrists, chiropractic specialists, mental health providers, and physical therapists all work together to help maintain health and wellness in Sac County.
Howard Activity Center offers residential and in-home services for mentally and physically challenged adults.
In addition to school facilities, the county has three fitness centers, one with an indoor pool, to encourage healthy living.
